Senior Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, up keep or replacement of plant equipment including facilities and manufacturing to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of WISCON.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following description of job responsibilities are intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

• Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance/repair program based on best practices in the industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance on all equipment
• Implements review process for equipment and facility to enhance performance against plan
• Develops and implements improvements to process stability, setup, tooling and documentation
• Maintains and records inventories of spare parts, supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary to ensure equipment uptime
• Manages and maintains all warranties on equipment. Reviews and recommends changes and updates to ensure warranty is accessed
• Pro-actively reviews the operation of plant equipment constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, solving problems in a timely manner and identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement
• Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc. fulfilling and maintaining all ISO requirements
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machinery in breakdown situations when necessary
• Diagnose equipment problems, implement appropriate solutions and affirm continued effectiveness of repairs and maintenance
• Responsible for maintaining the air, electrical and other facility systems for the plant
• Select and coordinate facility and manufacturing equipment maintenance with repair vendors as needed
• Responsible for basic manipulation of CNC machines
• Complies with all WISCON policies and OSHA rules while carrying out maintenance functions
• Keeps accurate and timely records of all maintenance and service activities.  Makes recommendations from the maintenance and service activity records for improved performance.
• Maintains a professional relationship with all employees
• Conduct performance reviews for appropriate personnel if applicable
• Maintains a safe and organized work environment utilizing and promoting 5S
• Recognize and correct unsafe conditions, acts and ensuring department safety goals are met
• Participates and leads continuous improvement activities in tune with lean manufacturing initiatives
• Maintains MSDS files in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Other duties as may be assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Completion of High School, Associate Degree in a technical field is preferred

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
 Seven or more years’ experience in an OEM service technician role
 Robotic experience preferred

SKILLS & ABILITY:
Knowledge of industrial electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and motor control systems.
Knowledge of G and M codes
Knowledge of manual machine tools and practices
Extensive mechanical aptitude in manual and CNC machine repair and troubleshooting.
Ability to read, interpret and understand schematics and engineering drawings.
Ability to effectively communicate and record concepts, instructions and definitions.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and PLC’s.
Ability to work in a cross functional team environment, making timely decisions and taking actions independently
Strong leadership skills to inspire a group of individuals to function as a team to obtain optimal results
Excellent analytical, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
Strong written, communication and listening skills
Positive attitude, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, teamwork oriented environment
Ability to work autonomously using independent thinking with confidence

 None required

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIRMENTS:
Work frequently requires walking, use of hands (to handle or feel), reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
Work frequently produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, is performed under tight deadlines and requires attention to detail
Must have high energy level, stress tolerance and act with a sense of urgency
Occasionally requires weekend hours or working a different shift
May involve lifting materials and product up to 70 pounds
Work is often performed in loud environments 
Must be able to wear safety equipment including, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes           

 

Process Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing support to the leadership and employees in the production of our products at the quality and rate that meets and exceeds our customer’s demands.  Lead, manage, execute and communicate engineering projects as directed.  Responsible for achieving the required production output by maintaining consistent cycle times and scrap/downtime targets. Ensures that the processes used to produce the product Wiscon provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including customer expectation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The following description of job responsibilities are intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
• Responsible for the implementation of all Production/Process engineering activities associated with Wiscon Products
• Responsible for the design, development and/or improvement of manufacturing processes, keeping manufacturing costs as low as possible without affecting the quality of our products
• Analyze, recommend and implement new and existing equipment, set-up processes and production methods, apply LEAN principles including SMED
• Analyze effectiveness of existing PM procedures and review, update, and improve current PM record keeping
• Responsible for organizing and optimizing production while observing specifications
• Provide support for machine set-ups and training; trouble-shoot in production departments to minimize down-time
• Work with Manager on tooling selection and evaluation
• Work with technicians to replace worn or damaged tooling
• Responsible for managing job documentation

• Work with the leadership team to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality and productivity are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance
• Recommend, initiate and implement tools, fixtures, and processes to improve product quality, minimizing scrap
• Train, Crosstrain and Develop Wiscon production personnel through hands on and class room training to improve and enhance; skills, knowledge and performance
• Provide technical support for plant operations.
• Troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur
• Maintain and implement Improvements to the production computer networks including but not limited to; DNC, Machine Monitoring, Tool Supply, Virtual Machining, Job Boss
• Carry out projects as assigned
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintains a safe and organized work environment by recognizing and correcting unsafe conditions or acts and ensuring department safety goals are met

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

• College degree in technical field preferred or comparable experience
• Five to Ten years work experience in fast pace processing of machined components
• Experience in fast pace manufacturing environment
• Experience with PLC based controls as well as the tooling and fixturing of equipment
• Proficient in 5S and other LEAN principles
• Demonstrated knowledge and training in process work instructions, standardized work, operator balance, and error proofing
• Automotive experience a plus

SKILLS & ABILITY:
• Must have sound understanding of hydraulic parts and manifolds
• Ability to write G code programs
• Green Belt (Six Sigma) would be a plus
• Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is required
• Knowledge of Job Boss preferred
• Knowledge of ISO strongly preferred
• Knowledge of cutting parameters, feeds and speeds strongly preferred
• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.  Solid problem solving skills required
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Possess extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical designs
• Ability to work in a cross functional team environment, making timely decisions and taking actions independently
• Strong math and statistical skills to use inspection and defect data in root cause analysis, and to develop test and inspection procedures
• Reading comprehension and use of active listening skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to write procedures and create reports from highly technical data
• Ability to work autonomously with confidence

WORK CONDITIONS:
Majority of time spent on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection, also requires safety glasses and steel toed shoes

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
